Abstract

Natural rubber is an agricultural raw material for many important and strategic industries. Aiming at increasing the quality and national production, new clones of rubber trees are under study. In this present study, thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA) has been carried out to evaluate and to monitor the thermal behavior of the NR extracted from new clones of IAC 300 series. Natural rubber from IAC 328, IAC 329 and IAC 331 clones showed good thermal stability up to 300 degrees C in inert atmosphere and the thermal behavior was the same as that of control, RRIM 600 clone. The thermal degradation process was shown in one step. There were not significant differences of the thermal behavior among clones and tappings. (AU)
