Abstract

Young people experience many difficulties in exercising their sexuality and reproduction and their rights are not respected. These difficulties have already been described and analyzed for their determinants. However, controversy persists regarding interventions to promote the sexual and reproductive rights of young people. We are a research team with the objective of conducting systematic reviews to 1) map the qualitative approaches of school interventions that favor condom use; 2) systematize evidence on barriers to the use of emergency contraception, and 3) develop an aggregated synthesis of qualitative and quantitative approaches to interventions to increase HIV testing. Likewise, we aim to understand theoretical fields and epistemological matrices that inform: 4) school interventions that favor condom use and 5) interventions to reduce violence in affective-sexual relationships. To do so, we will use the methodologies developed by the Cochrane Collaboration and the Joanna Briggs Institute. The steps will be: to define the guiding questions, to search literature in the bibliographic bases, to develop and register protocols, to extract data, to summarize results, interpret and evaluate the level of evidence of each study and publish reports and articles. In the end, we will produce unprecedented qualitative, quantitative and mixed evidence on youth interventions. Likewise, we will produce critical analyzes on the theoretical frameworks that have informed interventions in condoms and violence in affective-sexual relations. This analytical corpus will broaden the knowledge about this population group and will serve to plan educational actions and interventions in schools and health services. (AU)
