Abstract

The "Poupemais: financial education using cell phones" research project, financed with resources from FAPESP - PIPE, achieved very significant results during 2016 and 2017, leading us to the conclusion that it positively affects those who participate. In the case of Bolsa Família (conditional cash transfer) beneficiaries, when it comes to decision making aspects before making a purchase, the impacts were extremely relevant. There is also evidence that the product increases the users' confidence when it comes to purchases and loans, indicating a first positive effect of the exposure to the financial education content proposed by Poupemais.Therefore, we believe it is extremely important to develop its commercial aspects and market insertion in a rigorous way, so that the solution is replicable and scalable, amplifying its impact and reaching as many beneficiaries as possible in Brazil.
