Abstract

The collaboration visiting is held at the host laboratory of Dr. Rosangela Itri's in University of São Paulo (USP) between 8th and 30th of September, 2018. It has a main goal to give continuity to our collaboration project started of circa one year and a half ago. We have been focused on the main mechanical properties changes promoted on erythrocytes (used as model cell) upon photo-oxidation. Several experimental results with micropipette assays were carried out. During the visiting of about three weeks, we are going to work on the further three tasks together to achieve our major goal of "Characterizing the signal transduction and cytoskeletal network reformation of RBC membrane". The overall goal of this project is to characterize the signal transduction and cytoskeletal network reformation responsible for the dynamic mechanical property changes of red blood cell membrane under photosensitization. At the end of the visiting, Dr. Kinoshita will present the results, as an invited symposiasta, at the 43nd Annual Brazilian Biophysics Society meeting (SBBf) at Santos, SP (27th - 30th of September).
