Abstract

The project "70 years of the Brazilian Society for the Progress of Science (SBPC), Past & Present designing the Future" focus on the work of the Society with impact in the policies of science, education, innovation, health and environment. SBPC is a unique Society in Latin American, in continuous activity since 1948. The research product will be a book base in historical process of the Society from installation to consolidation, through actions that imprint the participation and the position of this Society in defense of education, science and technology in this period. The book will also feature statements from academic and political leaderships that have been working for the benefit of this society since its creation in 1948 to the present day, analytical texts on the historical processes that marked the 70 years of SBPC. The book will be illustrated by photos of relevant facts of this history, newspaper articles, personalities photos and other documents referring to the institutional trajectory of the SBPC. The book edition is scheduled for the second semester of 2018. (AU)
