Abstract

Information security is one of main factors for banking sector. Thus, achieving a high security level is essential for customers and stakeholders when using online banking services. As a result, information security is one of major concerns for any bank, especially for e-banking systems. Recently the number of attacks and malicious applications targeting e-banking transactions has significantly ascended. Another sector that lacks for information security is Internet of Things (IoT). Most of services deploy limited authentication, authorization and accounting services. For example, smart home service usually considers that only internal users will be accessing the devices. These devices may not use strong passwords or mutual authentication. Considering this aspect, it becomes a choice for attackers to use brute force to invade the system. The lack of cryptography for IoT devices makes easier for external attacks as it connects to a local network or Internet. This attacks can result in losing sensitive information, and also compromise the system. To enhance the security of those systems, this proposal is focused in developing an algorithm, implemented in FPGA, that uses a complex visual cryptography methodology for authentication in real time.
