Abstract
The main goal of the present research project is to improve the setup mounted at the 30B beamline of the Open Laboratory of Nuclear Physics (LAFN, acronym in Portuguese) of USP, which is equipped with a SNICS negative ion source coupled to a 8 MV pelletron tandem accelerator. The new detector array will be applied on measurements involving nuclear reactionswith tightly and weakly bound projectiles. The experimental cross sections will be compared with results of coupled-channel calculations. Results of great interest both for the basic studyof nuclear reaction mechanisms and for the comprehension of astrophysical processes such as stellar nucleosynthesis are expected. (AU)
