Abstract

The multi-user equipment, Aperio Scanscope CS, aims to meet a scientific demand of the projects of researchers of the institution that need the analysis of immunoexpression of specific targets in waxed material. The computerized analysis and tissue sections made possible by the APERIO Scanscope SC system and its analysis algorithms allow the identification of the location and amount of total and immune labelled cells as well as the levels of immunostaining in different structures (nucleus, cytoplasm, cell membrane). It is still possible to quantify the area and intensity of co-located markers, which would be extremely important and relevant for several projects of the FOB/USP. This more accurate and reproducible methodology is widely disseminated in the literature, especially by international journals of greater impact. (AU)
