Abstract
The semiotic-cultural constructivism in psychology (CSC) has emerged as a meta-theoretical perspective addressing the comprehension of meaning construction processes, reflecting about the role of human cultural experience in knowledge construction. Science and arts, as other spheres of human symbolic action, are understood as specific ways of sense construction from personal and culturally meaningful experiences (cf. Simão 2004, 2005; 2010; 2015a; Guimarães, 2017). After fifteen years of academic productions in the field of CSC, the present research project aims to make explicit the positions of the area in the epistemological, ontological and ethical levels. To make explicit of the meta-theoretical positions, in the border between psychology and philosophy, is relevant to comprehend the meaning of the emerging theoretical propositions, situating it in relation to the cultural set they make part and in relation to the self-contradictory project of constitution of psychology as an independent science. At the epistemological level, the interfaces of CSC with the matrices of the psychological thinking (cf. Figueiredo, 1989/2009; 1992/2007), in which psychological theories and systems are arranged according to principles derived from a genealogical reflection identifying dispersions, deviations and efforts of articulation, will be traced. At the ontological level, the focus is the hermeneutic relation that constitutes the objective-instrumental and subjective-functional coordinated actions between people, constructing the world and the senses of the experiences in co-authorship (cf. Marková, 2003; Simão, 2015). At the ethical level, the reflection addresses the need of permanent openness of the researchers to understanding that exceeds their preconceptions, leading to possibilities of theoretical-methodological innovations that allows the progressive inclusion of the human cultural diversity in the framework of CSC, without reducing it to conceptions that homogenize the alterity.
