Abstract

"Stand of Science at School" is a research project of actions of diffusion of science to the public school of the infancy and pre-adolescence. It has as a characteristic the playful approach of scientific themes in connection with social issues and artistic-cultural manifestations through non-formal interventions in school environment. With the supervision of teachers from partner schools and joint planning, among them and graduate students, the interventions are performed by teams of undergraduate students in science, pedagogy and other areas relevant to this type of work. The research has as main objectives the investigation on the process of formulation of the play-didactic interventions and its repercussion in the engagement of children and pre-adolescents in relation to socio-scientific topics, besides producing knowledge about its effects in the school environment and in the professional formation and improvement of educators. As an unfolding, it proposes the evaluation and characterization of the university-school interaction, in relation to contributions in the improvement of public education. The interventions involve artistic-cultural manifestations such as films, books, comics, games, music, staging, experiments and simple montages, among others. The actions foresee the continuity of initiatives already underway: LADYBROW, aimed at children from early childhood (up to 6 years of age) and ALICE, aimed at pre-adolescents (10 to 14 years) and mainly structured research on their developments. These actions are configured as school science projects, dealing with the future of humanity, unfolded in three themes: environment, space exploration and robots and artificial intelligence. The project is a joint proposal of researchers from the University of São Paulo and the Federal University of São Paulo, Federal Institute of São Paulo and University of Ottawa (Canada). (AU)
