Abstract

Professor Chakraborti, from the Department of Information Systems, Statistics and Management Sciences, University of Alabama (UA), is a renowned researcher in applied statistics, with significant contribution in the field of monitoring and control of statistical processes. From 2014, Prof. Chakraborti has been visited Brazil and contributed to the development of research on process monitoring, as well as the training of postgraduate students at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, PUC-Rio, and with the Department of Production Engineering, Federal University of São Carlos, DEP-UFSCar. In continuity with the cooperation with Prof. Chakraborti, a new 15-day visit to UFSCar is planned for May 2019, with the following objectives: To support the orientation of masters and doctoral students; Assist in the elaboration of scientific articles; Lecture for undergraduate and graduate students; Organize a special issue on monitoring and statistical process control in G & P magazine. The results of this cooperation have been produced scientific papers published in international journals. (AU)
