RTI 2018: Annual Application Plan of Technical Reserve for Institutional Infrastructure for research

Abstract

In order to strategically strengthen the research activities of UNIFESP and following the determinations established by FAPESP for the use of RT-Institutional this application plan aims, above all, to act to recover, consolidate and expand the infrastructure for research on the various Campi of UNIFESP. Emphasis will be placed on multi and interdisciplinary projects carried out in multiuser equipment and laboratories, focusing on the quality of research and its potential for technological innovation, internationalization, and application of results to society. We emphasize that the plan of application of the 2018 RTI was built with the active participation of the Post-Graduation and Research Chambers of UNIFESP (Baixada Santista, Diadema, Guarulhos, Osasco, São José dos Campos and São Paulo) in the light of the Institutional Development Plan (PDI 2016-2020) of UNIFESP and approved in an ordinary meeting of the Post-Graduation and Research Council of 29 November 2018. The resources were divided into two parts, being the first, with 70%, called "Demand of Post-Graduation and Research Chambers" of each University Unit and the second, with 30% called "Institutional Demand" of Pro-Rectory Post-Graduation and Research. The demand of the Post-Graduation and Research Chambers will have their values divided proportionally to the contribution of the group of researchers crowded in the respective units of generation of resources. The primary criterion for the choice of proposals was the multiuser character of the request, in order to meet a higher number of researchers from the institution. A resource will be used for the laboratory animal breeding infrastructure at the Center for the Development of Experimental Models for Biology and Medicine (CEDEME) and in the LEA-Infar, for the maintenance of equipment, for server maintenance with high processing capacity and use of advanced bioinformatics tools and for the acquisition of I.T. equipment for the Data Center, which is being restructured to accommodate the institutional data repository. In turn, essential consumables will also be acquired for the operation of research areas, such as the purchase of medical gases for conducting experiments in research laboratories. In Institutional Demand, the use of these resources was proposed by the team of the Pro-Rectory of Post-graduation and Research to support the main common areas of research that serve a large number of researchers, whose infrastructure needs repairs or maintenance. The prioritization of these resources will use as criteria the urgency and importance of the request, with emphasis on requests for emergency corrective maintenance that cannot be met on time (in order to avoid damage to equipment or the activity stop) by other institutional funds. Moreover, it was decided to prioritize projects that add researchers from different areas, with no history of previous collaboration, with the objective of developing research with convergent character, innovative and with potential for internationalization.
