Abstract
Obesity is a multifactorial disease responsible for various pathological conditions which increase the mortality rate. Metabolic syndrome, lipid metabolism disorders and glucose are diseases commonly found in overweight individuals, and the physical, social, psychological and economic consequences of obesity make it a public health problem. Some studies have evaluated the changes in metabolites present in urine of obese pacients, however, there have been no reports in the literature about the change of organic acids and amino acids in the urine of Brazilian prepubertal obese. In addition, it is known about the contribution of behavioral factors such as lifestyle and eating habits for the development of obesity and quality of life. Studies in the field of exposomic reinforces this notion in order to obtain information about the connections between exposure to certain substances and the risk of adverse results to the organism, which can trigger chronic diseases. The search for a biomarker that can indicate the risk of developing metabolic syndrome is important in a population that has not yet reached the reproduction phase of life, which aims to block the development of the syndrome from measures and encouragement of healthy habits, before the need for drug therapy. The aim of this study is to analyze urine samples, through the comparative study of metabolites, obesogenic endocrine disruptors, inorganic nutrients and metals by mass spectrometry, prepubescent healthy, obese and/or with metabolic disorders in search of biochemical markers for early diagnosis of Metabolic Syndrome. The results obtained will be correlated with information from the database (containing anthropometric data, biochemical dosages and information of personal habits of children and mothers) in order to obtain better understanding of how lifestyle can interfere with health, thus enabling the proposal of new prevention strategies, prognosis and therapy, aiming the maintenance of the quality of life.
