RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURE - Botucatu Medical School- UNESP

Abstract

The Botucatu Medical School (FMB) has three research units, in addition to other equipment that supports research at the institution. For some years, we have adopted the policy of strengthening multi-user strategies, research groups and collective decision-making through the competent collegiate. Given this logic, the allocation of resources from the Institutional Technical Reserve (RTI) FAPESP 2019 were discussed by the Research Committee of the Botucatu Medical School. The proposal approved by this committee was to invest the resources to finalize the operational infrastructure of the Research Unit on Animal Experimentation (UPEA) and to make improvements in the vivarium enviroments and freezer rooms of the Experimental Research Unit (UNIPEX) of the Botucatu Medical School - UNESP. The objectives with this application are: 1. to enable the beginning of activities with full use of the potential of UPEA, thus fulfilling the role of the unit in our institution; 2. To ensure the maintenance of experimental animals by the installation of equipment necessary to guarantee the life and health of the animals; 3. Ensure the maintenance and organization of biological samples used in research in freezer rooms -80ºC. The proposal was submitted and approved by the Congregation of the Botucatu School of Medicine at an Ordinary Meeting held on 09/20/2019 (as per documents attached to the file). The requested items and their due budgets are attached in the corresponding fields of the platform. Total budget: R $ 170,000.00. (AU)
