Abstract

Mastiff is a thermostat smart collar for dogs that does the measurement of its vital signs, such as temperature, heartbeats and time of activity and rest. It collects important health data and establishes a detailed view about the dog's quality of life for dog owners and veterinarians, integrating the IoT technology with a thermoelectric system, a feature that does the sending of heat and cold waves directly to the dog's neck to maximize its thermal comfort, and help to control better the temperature variable on its body in a very hot day, cold one or after physical exercises. There is no product line developed that unifies these technologies in a single device, so Mastiff is the only innovative solution in the world market, having already applied a patent request. The integration done by Mastiff collar between sensors of vital signs and thermostat system is what makes up its innovative aspect compared to the market. None of the Pet Wearables companies have adherence in Brazil, mainly because they are imported products, leaving behind the third largest consumer market in the Pet sector in the world. This collar follows and draws a compound annual growth estimated at 12% in the market of wearable technologies for dogs until 2024. In 2016, the shipments of these technologies has exceeded 5 million unities in USA, which will have a huge impact in the Pet market worldwide and at the Brazilian one.
