Abstract

This project refers to the application of the technical reserve for the Institutional Research Infrastructure - ICMC/USP Exercise 2020 -, in order to properly support researchers and graduate students in the thirty-three research groups in the fields of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computing. The proposal approved by the ICMC Congregation aims to update the research infrastructure by increasing performance and access to the computational and the wireless networks, and also to conclude the effort to modernize the study and research spaces available in the Achile Bassi Library. Considering the increasing usage of library spaces by graduate students and postdoctoral researchers, the influence of thermal comfort in the concentration and quality of users' work, and considering also the institutional responsibility for the custody and preservation of the bibliographic collections made available to the scientific community, adequate climatization of the proposed area will ensure better working conditions to users and will minimize the risk of damage to existing bibliographic material. Such investments are essential to update the research infrastructure available to the researchers at ICMC. (AU)
