Abstract

The bilateral Brazil-UK workshop "Sustainable chemical approaches for CO2 reduction" will cover the state-of-the-art approaches currently used for the capture of carbon dioxide as well as for its reduction into chemicals of high commercial value. This is a very timely topic given the negative impact that climate change driven by raising emissions of carbon dioxide is starting to have in all sectors of economy. The workshop will lead to a better understanding of the processes for the carbon dioxide conversion into useful chemicals, which can create the foundations for new industries and jobs, bringing economic and social prosperity to Brazil. The workshop is also conceived as a career development opportunity with a focus on promoting international collaboration within the bilateral cohort of early career researchers and their Mentors and Principal Applicants.
