Abstract

We aim to develop and apply a method to evaluate the results and impacts of the Bean Genetic Improvement Program of Instituto Agronômico (IAC). Our approach takes into account critical issues of results and impacts assessments in the context of agricultural R&D, such as the nature of S, T&I activities, the R&D model, the multifunctionality of the agricultural domain, and the specificities of the case studies. Our proposal has a scientific and innovative character by presenting an evaluation model that considers the specificities and difficulties of genetically improve varieties of common beans. We expect to contribute to agricultural research organizations by providing novel R&D planning and management processes, generating technology transfer strategies, and supporting the development innovative cultivars and products.
