Abstract

This project aims to investigate ways to increase privacy in blockchain-based systems. Systems using blockchain implement integrity, auditability and fault tolerance. This is because blockchain incorporates all three properties through hash functions and distributed systems (and no longer fully centralized as in the pure client/server). However, blockchain privacy is a requirement that needs research, especially user and transaction privacy. The project will be conducted in partnership with ICMC / USP and Duke University. Jó Ueyama from USP is a blockchain and IoT specialist and will collaboratively develop the project with researchers: Ashwin (privacy expert), Kartik (blockchain expert) and Mario Andrade (statistics expert); The statistic is used to perform evaluations with the privacy model to be produced. It is expected to have a long-term partnership that transcends the duration of this project. Privacy is a very important requirement and this can be seen with the definition of LGPD (Brazilian Law for Personal Data) itself in Brazil. (AU)
