Abstract

The skin presents a complex response to the healing process regulated by multiple molecular mechanisms. This regulation, the molecular mechanisms and all the signaling involved is in full depth of research for your better understanding. Keloids have been reported in 5 to 16% of individuals of Hispanic, Asian and African descent. They affect men and women alike and are more common in younger individuals. There is also a family tendency in the development keloid, among several hypotheses raised since the beginning of healing research. Such scarring disorders impair the individual's physical, psychological and social well-being. The pathophysiology of the keloid is not yet understood and the treatments are multiple with a high recurrence rate. The fact that keloid occurs exclusively in human makes it even more difficult to advance studies. Several factors influence the gene expression of the keloid, the transcriptome is the complete set of transcripts and directly reflects this expression. The transcripts, which may be RNA types and microRNAs, play an important role in biological processes such as cell growth, proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis. It is not surprising, therefore, that it has been relevant in the development of various diseases by controlling aspects of cell growth and differentiation. Knowing that there are numerous factors involved in the healing process, the objective of the present study is to analyze the profile of transcripts in human earlobe keloid. (AU)
