Abstract

The principal objective is to study the dynamic of the planetary boundary layer (PBL) over areas of tropical forest and pasture in Rondônia. This objective will be attained through three field campaigns in experimental areas around Ji-Paraná, Rondônia. The first camp mission occurred in September 1992, the second in July 1993 and the third will take place in July 1994, with continuous measurements of the dynamic and thermodynamic profiles above the forest and pasture simultaneously, for a period of three weeks. To analyze and synthesize the observations numerical models will be used, from the most simple, such as one-dimensional models of PBL, to complex three-dimensional meso-scale models. (AU)
