Abstract

This is a proposal to support a 12-month visit of Dr. Armando Machado (Universidade de Aveiro, Portugal) to UFABC, with scheduled visits to the laboratories of the National Institute of Science and Technology on Behavior, Cognition, and Teaching (ECCE- INCT) at UFSCar, funded by FAPESP (Grant #2014/50909-8), CNPq (Grant #465686/2014-1), and CAPES (Grant #88887.136407/2017-00). The main purpose of the visit will be Dr. Machado's participation in ongoing research projects at UFABC and UFSCar, and to carry out a new research project in collaboration with the visiting scholar at UFABC. In addition, Dr. Machado will contribute as a guest lecturer in different activities at UFABC. With support from FAPESP, Dr. Machado has visited some laboratories of the INCT-ECCE at UFSCar and elsewhere in the past, which resulted in co-authorship in articles published in international journals, and increased international visibility of the institute. Here, the focus will be to contribute to the consolidation of a young, but productive, research group at UFABC, whose work focus on the main area of expertise of the visiting researcher. (AU)
