Abstract

The objective of this proposal is to present the strategy for the creation of the Center of Excellence in Applied Research in Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Industry (CPA-IA), acknowledged at national and international level by the research, development and implementation of a multiuser open digital data science and AI platform for Industry 4.0, in order to leverage the modernization, competitiveness, and scientific and technological development of the national industry by accelerating and popularizing the application of AI to the various sectors of the industry, for micro, small, medium and large industries. This will allow, as a tool, the Brazilian Government to provide a digital environment for Industrial Artificial Intelligence (I-AI), providing the basis for the modernization of the production processes and the generation of new knowledge-intensive businesses. The development of this platform will be fostered by a network of researchers who will share their knowledge in integrated and interdisciplinary research projects. The integration of skills and experiences in AI of this network will enable a national plan for education and knowledge dissemination, with the training of qualified human resources. All of these activities will lead to the generation of innovative products and intellectual property, generating patents and registered softwares, promoting the transfer of technologies created for the public and private sectors, while seeking to create innovative opportunities to the sustainable and ethical development of the industry.
