Abstract

Pesticides are chemical products used to combat weeds, insects, bacteria, fungi, among other classes that can harm agriculture, however, many of them are extremely toxic to the environment, reaching non-target organisms, causing biological imbalance, contaminating waters. surface and underground and affecting human health. In this project, it is proposed to apply advanced oxidative processes such as Fenton, solar and solar photo-Fenton for the treatment of simulated aqueous effluents with different pesticides, in principle herbicides, from commercial products such as: Roundup® (glyphosate), Tordon® (2,4-D) and Gramoxone® (paraquat). The choice of these herbicides was based on a previous study by the research group and, consequently, a larger scale complementation through the construction of a CPC (composite parabolic collector) solar reactor, which will allow the study aimed at application in real effluent treatments. and miscellaneous. To evaluate the efficiency of the treatments, toxicity tests will be carried out with different bioindicators (seeds and fish). For this, the samples obtained after application of the different treatments will be used to germinate seeds of different crops (cucumber, corn, tomato and/or lettuce) and later phytotoxicity analysis: total proteins, membrane lipid peroxidation (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD), hydrogen peroxide and catalase, and will also be used as an aquatic medium for zebrafish specimens, which will be subjected to acute and chronic toxicity tests to pesticides and histological and erythrocyte nuclear morphology analyses. This proposal is related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 6 and 14, relating water and life in water: conservation, availability, management, sanitation and sustainability. (AU)
