Abstract

Professor Dr. Enrique Lopez will come to Brazil to collaborate in the realization of the research project "Transport Production System (SPTrans). His stay aims to allow the improvement and testing of the variables proposed in the project in order to constitute a database for the analysis of São Paulo's railway landscape; to verify the conditions for future extension of the project within a Latin American perspective of analysis of the industrial landscape as well as. The main objectives of the visiting researcher proposal which are articulated with the research project are: a conceptual review (notion of landscape, heritage management strategies); methodology for architectural heritage survey and use of new technologies (use of data cartography and creation of spatial data infrastructure); and case studies on heritage and cultural landscape. Other related objectives are: to identify researchers and research networks on landscape and industrial heritage; to verify the conditions (conceptual and physical) necessary for the creation of a virtual environment on production landscape which gathers diverse information (textual, visual and spatial) and related bases (urban, environmental, economic, logistics); and to direct this environment to be a powerful tool of data treatment for themes related to the American production landscape. In order to achieve these objectives, we intend to work with different instruments (open databases; historical documentation; geo-referenced cartography; perceptual cartographies; heritage data; memory narratives), which allow information processing and analysis.
