Abstract

This project focuses on the theoretical and practical study of telematic chamber music. We will develop research on the immersive telematics work for flute by composer Paulo C. Chagas. Our focus is musical performance and creating different sound spaces in virtual environments. We will establish a telematics music center in the Music Department of USP - Ribeirão Preto and for that we are asking for equipment. We will adopt two main theoretical references divided into 1) theory and philosophy of telematic music (Chagas); 2) artistic and technological development upon telematic music (international Newspapers and Congress Anais that deal with the theme). We are working with the immersive telematic chamber music performances methodologies', based on the concepts of presence and corporality developed by Chagas. The actions presented are: 1) Immersive audiovisual telematics music, collaborating with Paulo C. Chagas; 2) Co-improvisation, development of electronic instruments and sound spatialization together with composer Mikhail Malt; 3) Ensemble Telematico LaFlauta, performance students' group of FFCLRP-USP, under my coordination, with the creation of new works by Paulo C. Chagas, Danilo Rossetti and myself. The main expected results are to produce an audiovisual product with immersive telematic compositions for flute, by Paulo C. Chagas, development of virtual sound spaces, promotion of new works with the realization of telematic concerts and insertion of telematic chamber music in the scope of undergraduate students. Thus, we intend to contribute to the increase of the artistic and communicative potentialities of the telematic environment, either from the point of view of musical communication or its technological structure.
