Abstract

This proposal focuses on the processes of expulsions of foreing people in Brazil. It tooks particular attention to the connections between expulsions and incarceration technologies from a comparative and intersectional perspective. The project aims to analyze how local features complexify and broad theoretical assumptions produced from the "global north". In order to face this challenge, the project articulates two research strategies. The first refers to the development of fieldwork and documental investigation to be carried out in Brazil. The second concerns the analysis of research results in a comparative perspective through a network of international researchers, associated with this proposal, located in six countries. The Centre for Gender Studies - Pagu/Unicamp is the nodal point for the formation of this network, that brings together new and ongoing research on the subject of expulsions and imprisonment, produced from various national and ethnographic contexts.  The proposal aims to promote articulations of the research subject at a global level, taking into account the important contributions of gender studies and intersectionalities developed within the theoretical-analytical fields on mobilities, transnationalities and prison policies. These will also be objects of the disciplines offered in the Graduate Programs in Social Anthropology and Social Sciences at UNICAMP. (AU)
