SSP23: Space Studies Program 2023

Abstract

The 35th annual Space Studies Program (SSP) of the International Space University (ISU) will be held in Brazil, São José dos Campos, São Paulo, from 26 June to 25 August 2023, hosted by the National Institute for Space Research (INPE), the Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA) and the Municipality of São José dos Campos (PMSJC). The SSP is the largest and most comprehensive training program in the space area, covering both technical and non-technical aspects, in an international, intercultural and interdisciplinary environment. Over an intensive nine weeks program, more than 200 students, lecturers, professors, staff members, as well as experts and executives from international space agencies and main companies in the sector, coming from over 30 countries, will converge in São José dos Campos, transforming the city in the capital of the global space community during its tropical winter. SSP offers an exceptional educational package covering all aspects of space activity: physical, science, engineering, policy, law, business and management, humanities, human performancein space and space applications. Thys unique combination provides to the young professionals a comprehensive perspective of the space industry and of space based solutions for real problems in an interdisciplinary way. ISU creates the future leaders of the emerging globalspace economy. Like previous editions of the Program at other locations around the world, SSP 2023 will contribute to the global effort to develop the space area and garner national and worldwide press coverage in various types of social media.
