Abstract

The Project aims to: 1) analyze the feasibility of creating an online platform to structure and standardize operative notes of peripheral angioplasty, to obtain data for quality management in healthcare, and 2) develop a prototype that will provide an operative note with structured and parameterized data, facilitating the completion by the surgical team and allowing analysis to support decision making. For healthcare quality management, it is important to have accurate labeling and classification of data, so that registry variables can be equally collected between different centers and parameters adjusted between them. In electronic health records, unstructured data is the largest part of the data present, and it can provide valuable information about the patients. Therefore, structuring the surgery registry is a challenge since a well-planned decision-making support tool must be efficient and low-cost. Thus, to execute the research project, we plan to: develop an online platform to organize data from operative notes, carry out tests to validate our ideas, and develop a business plan based on a prototype for the health care data management. Analyzing the results and deliverables, it will be possible to define the feasibility and technical suitability of the product to be developed. Thus, at the end of the project, the following results and deliverables are expected to be obtained: Report of components and elements for making operative notes; Creation of a specific data set with patient data, operative note, and report of quality indicators for a vascular surgery procedure (peripheral angioplasty); Software prototype of an operative note (peripheral angioplasty). Achieving success at this stage, we will be able to participate in Phase II of the PIPE program, in which research and development efforts will be intensified, seeking to build an online platform that fully integrates into the surgeons' daily activities, facilitating the collection of data, and generating operative notes and quality reports.
