Abstract

The São Paulo School of Advanced Science on Hologenomic Data Analysis For Agriculture is a two-week course in host-microbiome multi-omics data analyses and integration, shedding light on the understanding of the hologenome concept and discussing possibilities of application to improving food production and sustainability. Brazilian and foreign speakers, who are considered either references in the scientific community or are young researchers that have recently made relevant contributions to this field, will be in the program. The 75 hours course will consist of lectures, practical classes on data analysis, technical visits to scientific institutions and research presentations (oral and posters). In the scientific program, it is provided enough time to promote discussion. In order to warrant a broader impact of bringing reference speakers in the scientific field, the lectures and oral presentations will be opened to the scientific community besides the selected students. Moreover, efforts will be driven to implement hybrid systems of transmission to streaming platforms like, for instance, YouTube. The integration between Brazilian and international speakers, with massive participation of speakers from São Paulo State, and the participation of students, selected by their potential in developing current and future research on the knowledge area of the course, will create in São Paulo State a pole to attract globally competitive scientific talent. Therefore, this São Paulo School of Advanced Science on Hologenomic Data Analysis For Agriculture will provide students and young researchers with an interdisciplinary vision on hologenomics, as well as with state-of-the-art knowledge on how to analyze and integrate the analyses of different omics. Furthermore, this school aims to discuss how these tools could improve the development of new agricultural management strategies. (AU)
