Abstract
This project addresses the light statistics from ensembles of many quantum emitters, where interference and quantum optics meet. Ion crystals represent a particularly adapted platform, since the number and position of the emitters can be tuned precisely, as well as the degree of randomness on their position (motional modes). We propose to take advantage of this tunability to explore the non-trivial photon-photon correlations arising from the constructive and destructive interference between the radiation of the different emitters. The São Carlos group will lead the theory effort, providing predictions and data analysis, while the Olomouc partner will seek detecting these correlations in their ion trap setup. (AU)
