Abstract

Since 2005, Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya have been circulating together in Brazil. The three viruses are transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito, and the only effective control strategy is to combat the vector. Outbreaks and epidemics happen at the same time and their intensity depends on the immunity of the local population and the size of the vector population. Cross-immunity and the exacerbation of the infection is still poorly understood among the four dengue serotypes, and even less in relation to the other arboviruses. The project intends to address this theme from a mathematical modeling perspective based on the national circulation history of these three diseases. (AU)
