Abstract
Novel materials based on aromatic imides will be synthesized, with applications for the energy sector. The proposal aims the synthesis of three naphthalenediimide (NDI) derivatives, namely: N,N2-bis(2-phosphonoethyl)-1,4,5,8-naphthalenediimide (PNDI), N,N2-bis(4-carboxyphenyl)-1,4,5,8-naphthalenediimide (CNDI) e N,N2-bis(3-triethoxysilylpropyl)-1,4,5,8-naphthalenediimide (TESP-NDI). PNDI and CNDI, featuring phosphonate and carboxylate ligands, respectively, will be reacted with metallic cations, such as Zn, to give metal organic frameworks (MOFs), which will be employed for the CO2/CH4 separation. For this purpose, mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) will be prepared, containing the obtained MOFs embedded into a polymer matrix (polyetherimide or polysulfone). The permeability and selectivity of the MMMs towards the different gases involved in CO2 capture will be measured. TESP-NDI will be used as electron transport layer (ETL) in solar cells, through the deposition of a thin film by spin-coating on a conductive substrate, followed by sol-gel condensation of the silane groups.
