Abstract
The dimension of ageing for active and health life context should start as early as possible, and therefore raising awareness among younger people about the old age stage and human diversity, introducing concepts of active living and health education into school educational, could be a good way. The diversity of sectors in ageing communities must work together to promote social participation, education, and integral health. This activity aims to strengthen social participation, educational processes, and health promotion, to raise awareness about ageing in the context of basic municipal education, through theoretical concepts and the Statute of the Elderly Person and Laws on Human Diversity. The aim is to develop reflective and practical activities on issues related to human rights and citizenship, as well as to sensitize and prepare school leaders and teachers on aspects of citizenship, based on the project's themes: the ageing process, human rights, intergenerational coexistence, and human diversity (sex, gender, and ethnicity). This pilot study will be carried out in a municipal elementary school in the city of São Carlos, São Paulo state. The participants will be principals, teachers and eighth grade students, using participatory and action research and content analysis. Pre- and post-intervention questionnaires will be used to collect information on the profile of the participants and the content of human diversity and ageing. Some materials will be constructed to develop the project's themes, through some experiences of possible sensory changes expected with the ageing process (touch, sight, smell, taste, hearing, musculoskeletal system). It is hoped to disseminate concepts, avoid the effects of prejudice and discrimination against people, through educational processes can improve the acceptance of old age and respect for others in different generations, and schools as a formal social structure, are important settings to develop this proposal and avoid prejudice.
