Abstract

Architecture, because it is contained in the reciprocity of interactions that are formed between the user and the environment, in which the individual influences and is influenced by his environment, is shown as one of the possible ways to minimize the damage to health and well-being caused by the exhausting journeys related to teaching, research and extension activities and the difficult situations, inherent to the educational context, faced by teachers and students of higher education, especially after the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic period that lasted intensively until the year 2022. Research indicates that in situations of stress, fear, fatigue, sadness and anxiety, the body works to maintain homeostatic balance and attributes of the ambience can contribute to its restoration. In this sense, it is the objective of this research to elaborate the strategies and design guidelines and consequently the indication of the set of design parameters of humanized and homeodynamic educational environments and highlight their contributions to teaching in higher education, under the support of large areas of knowledge - Architecture, Education and Neuroscience -, whose articulations provide artifices for the understanding of the architectural experience in the school environment. In addition, a case study is carried out in pre-defined classrooms - of the Institute of Arts and the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Urbanism of Unicamp, from a multi-method approach, which includes passive direct observation, qualitative-quantitative survey, environmental autobiography, questionnaire application and experimentation (technological interface - Eye Tracking device). As a result, through the proposition of design parameters, interior architecture proposals and from a booklet with the set of design parameters, it is sought to evidence that the strategies and design guidelines of humanized and homeodynamic educational environments that are structured from the synergy between the concept of homeodynamic environments and products and the principles proposed by neuroeducation can contribute to the homeostatic balance, health and well-being of the body and mind, and consequently for better teaching in higher education - whether in research, teaching or extension. Moreover, it is the intention of the study to highlight a culture of care and not of surveillance in the educational environment and, above all, to fill the gap in existing research on the subject, in addition to stimulating future research based on evidential data, which consider the needs of the user in a complex way, in order to translate them into appropriate environments.
