Abstract

Due to different etiologies, pregnancy can be accompanied by specific diseases of the gestational period, known as obstetric complications. Among the hypertensive alterations associated with pregnancy, preeclampsia stands out, one of the main diseases responsible for the increase in maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality. Recent studies point to the role of the intestinal microbiota in the modulation of this gestational disorder. The present work aims to characterize the fecal, oral and vaginal microbiome and breast milk of patients diagnosed with preeclampsia in different degrees in the gestational and postpartum periods and to analyze the evolution of the fecal microbiota of babies through the consumption of breast milk. The characterization of the milk microbiota, maternal and infant content, in addition to the evaluation of the microbiome transcriptome will be evaluated through high-efficiency sequencing. With these results, we hope to contribute to the knowledge of the pathophysiology of these diseases, and possibly to the search for predictive markers of the microbiota related to the development of preeclampsia and depression, as well as the possible consequences on breastfeeding and on the evolution of the fecal microbiota of their newborns.
