Abstract

The meanings and significance of work are the way individuals live their experiences and perceptions, and understand their work activity. The purpose of this research project is: To identify the significance and meanings attributed to work in teachers who have been removed from their work and have returned to the work activities through the occupational readjustment process. The specific purposes are: To observe the perceptions experienced by the participants in the process of returning to work after the readjustment; To apprehend the feelings present in the relationship with work in the development of the activities indicated after the return due to leave; To assist with studies aimed at improving the occupational readjustment processes; To contribute with research on the meanings and significance of work. This is a qualitative, descriptive, and investigative research with the participation of ten state school teachers who had left their jobs due to an accident or illness, and returned to their work activities through the occupational readjustment process. For data collection, a semi-structured interview script will be used with topics covering socio-demographic and functional data, and questions based on the factors measured in the Motivation and Work Meaning Inventory. The results will be analyzed within the psychosociology approach and based on the theoretical framework of Psychodynamics of Work. (AU)
