Abstract

Technologies for adaptation and mitigation of temperature in the urban environment have been developed and applied to studies aimed at reducing the impact of heating, energy consumption and providing environmental quality. Several techniques for mitigating urban heating are reported, among them proposing new forms and arrangements of constructions, the use of reflective materials, increasing urban vegetation and reducing and managing the release of anthropogenic heat, and even sustainable forms of energy generation. The new paradigm of smart cities contributes to these studies, proposing a more sustainable, hyperconnected, technological, environmentally healthy urban model that provides better quality of life for citizens and the use of sustainable energy. The focus of this project is the city of Jundiaí-SP, since the municipality suffers from the impact of urban heating due to the combination of climate change, rapid urbanization, and local characteristics. Its purpose is to propose mitigation and adaptation of climate effects based on scientific knowledge that subsidize the government in the design of Public Policies for the reduction of urban heat, the generation of sustainable energy and technological support for environmental management.
