Amazonian Maritorium Sociobiodiversity: Multiscale Conflicts and Alternative Practices in the Traditional Fishing Community of Jubim, Marajó Archipelago

Abstract

From a multiscale socioterritorial conflicts approach - encompassing dimensions from territory areas to individual bodies as scales - the aim is to address the intersection of economic interests, societal projects, environmental impacts, and social, ethnic, racial, and gender inequalities. Through this perspective, the current study will focus on the Amazonian reality, specifically examining the traditional fishing community of Jubim in the municipality of Salvaterra, Pará. The research process will be guided by two central dimensions: 1. identify and analyze the threats and impacts brought about by the development model implemented in the coastal zone of Pará on the sociobiodiversity of Jubim's maritime areas, using a typology of socio-environmental conflicts in coastal environments; 2. map and make visible the alternatives that the community itself presents in its daily life to changes in sociobiodiversity, considering that the project aims to go beyond academic research for the purpose of also influencing and collaborating with local communities.
