Abstract

Work Plan for the Visit of Dr. Makaiko L Chithambo. The visiting researcher will conduct a 45-hour minicourse - "Exploring the Use of Stimulated Luminescence in Different Areas of Radiation Dosimetry" - aimed at educating and training professionals and students interested in this constantly evolving field. Radiation dosimetry is fundamental in various fields, including nuclear medicine, radiotherapy, radiological protection, dating of archaeological and geological materials, among others. The technology involved in stimulated luminescence is also continually advancing, with new techniques and equipment being developed to improve the accuracy and sensitivity of radiation dosimetry. Additionally, dosimetry professionals need continuous education to keep up with developments and best practices in their areas of expertise. Therefore, the minicourse aims to provide participants with useful skills and knowledge in dosimetry, as well as update them on advances and methods in this area. The visiting researcher will also hold lectures and/or seminars for Research Groups working on the same topic at the Institute of Physics of USP (IFUSP), as well as discuss collaborative projects.
