Abstract

This project aims to consolidate and expand the collaboration between the Medical Faculty of Ribeirao Preto, University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil, and the Institute of Innate Immunity, University of Bonn, Germany. The project focuses on the role of Gasdermin D(GSDMD) and its potential as a therapeutic target in models of sepsis and COVID-19. We propose an exchange of faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and Ph.D. students to develop ongoing research projects, provide advanced training through seminars and workshops, and design new collaborative grant applications. This international collaboration will enhance research quality, train young scientists, and build scientific careers. The project will investigate GSDMD's role in inflammation and its potential as a therapeutic target, leveraging complementary expertise from both institutions. (AU)
