Abstract

The axillary microbiota plays an important role in the generation of odors through the transformation of axillary mobility (no odor) into volatile molecules (pungent odor) by certain bacteria. One unlimited range of treatments has been developed to control odor production important (bromhidrosis), which is a condition that causes stigmatization and damage to relationships Social. However, these treatments are based on generalized strategies for the entire population, without taking into account the individuality of each person, often being invasive and just mask the condition. The dominance of two genera of bacteria has already been verified in the human axillary microbiota, Corynebacterium and Staphylococcus, and the prevalence of The first type is associated with increased production of bad axillary odor. Given this, this study has as main objective the development of a probiotic product for topical use composed of Lactobacillus bulgaricus and copaíba oil (native Amazonian tree), to reestablishment of the microbiota and improvement in the production of axillary odor, this product will be developed in partnership with a pharmaceutical company and will be tested on 40 volunteers in double blind system. The effectiveness of the product will be proven by in-office diagnosis, assessment of the individual himself and through the assessment of changes in the microbiota using the metabarcoding (Myseq-Illumina). The second objective is to develop a diagnostic test to map the microbiota diversity of these individuals through abundance analysis comparison of the two main genera of bacteria, through real-time PCR using specific probes (TaqMan). From the axillary microbiota mapping service we expect develop a report, which will serve as a basis for the molecular diagnosis of bromhidrosis and will serve as a fundamental tool for personalized and more assertive advice and treatment than Brazilian consumer. Furthermore, based on proof of product efficacy, reestablishment of the microbiota and improvement of bromhidrosis, we hope to present to the market a new treatment/control method, based on a natural product, which does not harm the skin and it does not just act to mask the condition.
