Abstract

Printed resins are an option for prosthetic rehabilitation treatment, but exposure to oral factors can alter their properties, affecting longevity. There is interest in investigating whether modifying the material surface with a film deposited by non-thermal plasma treatment is effective in preventing these changes. The aim of this work is to evaluate the effect of a silicon oxide-based film deposited by non-thermal plasma treatment on three composite resins processed by milling (Cerasmart Resin) or 3D printing (VarseoSmile Crown plus and priZma 3D Bio Crown Resins), in relation to their mechanical and optical properties. Four hundred fifty seven samples samples will be made, half of which will be subjected to treatment with low pressure plasma (inorganic SiOx layer). The samples will be evaluated before and after 30.000 thermocycling cycles at 5 and 55ºC for the following properties: characterization of the material surface using scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy and micro-Raman spectroscopy; thermogravimetric analysis; sorption and solubility analysis; conversion degree analysis; surface roughness; surface microhardness; biaxial flexural strength and modulus of elasticity; color stability (CIE 2000), translucency and fluorescence parameter. The numerical values obtained will be subjected to the normal curve adherence test. In case of normal distribution, analysis of variance will be applied, followed by appropriate parametric statistical tests, with a significance level of 5%. In case of non-normal distribution, non-parametric statistical tests will be performed. (AU)
