Magnetic Fabric techniques application in the tectonic-structural evolution of the Mineiro Belt, Southern São Francisco Craton, and its connections with the Iron Quadrangle and the Mantiqueira Province"

Abstract

This research aims to apply magnetic anisotropy methods in the characterization of granitic bodies and mylonitic rocks of the Alto Maranhão and Lagoa Dourada suites, Congonhas pluton, Cupim and Brás Pires granites, and Fé granodiorite outcropping in the Cinturão Mineiro-São Francisco Craton Southern and surroundings of the Mantiqueira Province domain. It is intended to associate the results of magnetic anisotropies with data on (i) microstructures (ii) textures, (iii) mineral chemistry and geochemical, (iv) geochronological, and (v) deformation and metamorphism mechanisms, especially in the mylonitic rocks of these bodies, in an attempt to investigate: (i) the regional tectonic scenario of the evolution of the Mineiro Belt and adjacent terrains and the tectonic context of the São Francisco Paleocontinent, (ii) the rheology of the lithosphere in the Archean-Paleoproterozoic-Neoproterozoic transition (iii) location of deformation in land surrounded by shear zones. The aim is also to characterize the deformation of rocks, aiming to provide a tectonic-structural and kinematic approach for the construction of an integrated, multiscale (fractal), and multidisciplinary model for the Mineiro Belt and the shear zones that delimit it. In addition, seeking a better understanding of the connections between the Mineiro Belt, the Iron Quadrangle, and the Mantiqueira Province, which are still poorly understood. (AU)
