Abstract

Interdisciplinary and inter-institutional research with the central objective of searching for paths towards an education for socio-cultural diversity. To achieve this, it invokes perspectives from Anthropology and history on education and takes, as empirical and theoretic reference, the intercultural dialogue between Indians and non-Indians in Brazil, highlighting the school as a privileged space for the creation of new forms of conviviality and reflection in this field. It brings together 19 sub-projects on socialization and processes of transfer of knowledge in Indian societies; on the impact of the introduction of writing and the school; the historical relationships between the State and Indian societies in the field of education.(AU)
