Abstract

Given the situation of conflicts generated by the inadequate use of natural resources, the region of Campinas deserves to be highlighted as a case study, both for its socioeconomic importance, and for indicators which make it possible to infer a worrying situation of ecosystemic saturation. If the dynamic of political decisions transformed in the last twenty-five years the interior of the State of São Paulo into the second economic pole of the Country, these changes were not homogeneous. Through influence of farming and agroindustry, or through the political and social stimuli stemming from the industrial settlement, the region of the basins of the Piracicaba and Capivari rivers, has ended up referenced as a particular collaboration, which in itself would justify scientific research which seeks to analyze in depth this peculiarity. The project aims to prioritize the analysis of the existing resources, the threats to these resources and society's response to these threats. (AU)
