Abstract
The main objective of this research is to study Bryophyte and Lycophyte fossils found in sedimentary rocks of Corumbatai and Teresina formations in S. Paulo, Paraná and Santa Catarina states. The systematic study and comparisons of fossil plants are going to be supported by morphological and anatomic features. The study of those ancient groups of fossil plants during the Late Permian is very attractive due in that time all the planet was under the influence of succesives dry intervals. As a consequence the fossil plants are quite rare and the Parana basin is not an exception. The samples exhibit an excellent preservation which allows to do very precise studies for understanding their habitat and the taphonomy of deposits where the fossils have been collected. Finally there are still few studies about these fossil groups in the sedimentary rock sequences of Parana basin. (AU)
