Abstract

Visceral Leishmaniasis is one zooanthroponosis caused by a flagellum protozoan of Leishmania Leishmania donovani genus complex, worldwide distributed and in Brazil the specie involved is Leishmania chagasi, the vector is Lutzomyia longipalpis and the main reservoir is the dog. The great concern of the health professionals are the imunesuppressive patients as in AIDS cases, organs transplant, neoplasias, corticosteroid therapy, among others factors. Those become susceptible to a lot of infections, mainly by protozoans. The knowledgement about the immunologic behavior in the situation is the extrem importance and thus we intended to study the correlated aspects of the parasitic load in spleen, liver and immunopatology, according to citocine production in murine model using infected BALB/c mice with Leishmania chagasi, after that immunessupressing them and contrasting it to the result between groups.
