Abstract
This project is about the research on long-term transmission network expansion planning problem. This research project is under supervision of Dr. Eduardo N. Asada, who is Assistant Professor of the Escola de Engenharia de São Carlos/ USP. For the execution of this research project, a network of computers and software are required. This project has the duration of two years and in general terms, the objective is to develop models and algorithms for the resolution of the expansion and operation problems of transmission and distribution systems. The algorithms will be based on classical optimization methods as well as meta-heuristic methods, such as Tabu Search, Genetic Algorithm, Particle Swarm, etc. These methods will be applied to various models of transmission and distribution system expansion planning considering two approaches: (1) static planning and (2) multistage planning.
