Abstract

For the understanding of the mechanisms in the which it is possible to manipulate the nutrition conditions and management of the chicks, is due firstly to know the adaptation processes that the birds suffer of the embryonic phase for the posthatch period (firsty weeks) with relationship to the body development of the bird (such as: alometric growth of the vital organs, patterns of secretion of digestive enzymes, changes in the metabolism, etc.), because the ingestion of exogenous feed is considered a limitation factor for the growth chicks. The digestive tract suffers a differentiation in the posthatch period, and it is necessary to diversify the researches involving the development of this system, especially of the intestinal mucosa, in the first days of life, to evaluate the effectiveness use of a solid diet soon when being hatching, in order to provide a great performance of the bird. This work has for objective to research the supplementation of glutamine, glutamic acid and nucleotides in the pre-starter and starter diets on performance, development and the intestinal mucosa enzyme activity in broiler chickens.
